Easy 2 Ingredient High-Protein Jelly Recipe

| I'm not a photographer, okay? |
IF YOU LIKE THE TEXTURE OF JELLY and want some with a ridiculously low number of calories, this is the recipe for you. Like, I can count all the calories on my two hands. This is an excellent quick snack recipe for cutting, and they say gelatine is good for your joints and stuff. Also, you can customise this recipe however you want; I'll share some tips and ideas. Let's see how this jiggly mf is done.
Ingredients
So this is where you can get creative. And you have to.
You're an artist.
You're a mad scientist.
You're Gordon Ramsey.
But first, let's just try the first variant. You can get weird later (see the customisation ideas down at the end of this post). These are the ingredients for the jelly thing you can see at the beginning of the post:
- 7g of gelatine powder (unflavoured)
- 30g of your favourite whey protein powder (I used strawberry)
- 200ml water (okay, I lied, this is three ingredients, sue me)
- Optional but recommended:
- Citric acid powder (a little bit, just to give it some extra oomph)
- Some zero-calorie sweetener (stevia or something, if deemed necessary)

Step-by-Step Instructions
-
Sprinkle the gelatin powder into a small saucepan, then add just a little water—just enough to moisten it all—and let it sit until it blooms and swells (about 3 minutes).
-
While stirring continuously, heat it gently over low heat until it dissolves completely. Once it starts to evaporate slightly, it's ready. Remove it from the heat and let it cool a bit.
-
In a shaker, mix the protein powder with the water.
-
Then, while stirring constantly, pour a small amount of the protein mixture into the gelatin. Once it's well combined, add another small amount and continue this process until everything is fully mixed together.
-
Pour the finished mixture into a glass container. If you want to add some fresh fruits or anything like that, this is the time to do so. After that, refrigerate for a few hours.
-
Since we're already starving, keep poking at it every now and then to see if it has set. Once it's firm enough and you can't wait any longer, it's ready to eat.
Customisation Ideas
- Try it with milk instead of water to give it some milky vibes!
- Add some fresh fruits! I tried it with strawberries, and it made it more filling.
- If you like it harder (you do, don't you), you can add a little bit more gelatine powder. You can also
add less to make it more jiggly. You can't really mess it up this way; it's going to be edible, but
don't go overboard.
- I also tried making it without protein powder: instead of water, I used sugar-free pineapple juice. This
resulted in a jelly that's hella low in calories. (I'm wondering whether I could make it work with Coke
Zero? Would that be too weird?)
- You can add aromas, food-colouring, or whatever you can find at home.
